Kuungana was appointed to lead a major review of the mechanisms being used to procure variable renewable energy technologies in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Our team performed a detailed diagnostic of existing procurement mechanisms, the state of renewable energy regulations, and the barriers to accelerating procurement. The diagnostic was used to prepare policy roadmaps, designed to address the identified gaps. The two primary focus areas of the review were the design of auction mechanisms for procurement, and the PPAs in place for successful projects.
